A miracle

Rob and I have been volunteering at the New Orleans mission (a homeless shelter here) on Tuesday nights. We help serve dinner. This past Tuesday, we were serving pork chops. The cook was a little nervous when she found out that there were 165 people there for dinner and we only had about 160 pork chops, at the most. She said before we began serving that God always has a way of providing, no matter how many people we have. Sure enough, every person got a pork chop and there was even about 20 left over. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical at first, maybe she miscounted the pork chops, or maybe they had miscounted the people. The more I have thought about it, the more I realize my lack of faith. OF COURSE God can feed 165 people with 160 pork chops and still have 20 to spare. Who am I to think anything is impossible with God in control? The cook even told us another story about the morning before where she cooked breakfast for 120 people and they ended up having 150, and still there was some to spare. Isn't God amazing? Nothing is impossible with Him! Amazing, absolutely amazing.

What a great story of God's faithfulness! We are studying the book of John in my junior high Bible class and we just finished the miracle of feeding the 5,000. I'll have to tell them about your story.

Love, Dad
