We need prayer...

Well, my mom went for a biopsy last week and it was a little scary, although we thought nothing would come of it. Well, my mom called me the other day to tell me that her biopsy came back positive for breast cancer. So, she will be having surgery on Monday April 16th. Please pray for her and our family. We won't know what stage of cancer until she has the surgery, which means we don't know if she will need chemo or radiation treatment.
It's all be kind-of scary and completely shocking. We don't have any family history of breast cancer in the family, and well, my mom has never really been anything but healthy. So, I guess I'm still not so sure how to react. I guess I really have not been thinking about it. Anyway. I just ask that you would please all pray that everything would go smoothly on Monday and in her recovery. My mom and I were talking last night about how this gives us an incredible opportunity to be a good witness to our unsaved family members. We know that God is in control and that His ways are higher and greater than our own. Please pray that we would exemplify God's peace to our unsaved family through this time. Thanks.

Christina, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I will be praying for her and your whole family. A verse popped into my mind after I read this. I know you know it, but sometimes it's nice to hear it again. "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Rom. 8:28 I know it doesn't always make sense how this verse can be true, but hang on to it anyway. Dr. Dobson has been talking about "when God doesn't make sense" on Focus on the Family this week. I know I needed to hear what he had to say, and maybe it will help you too. If you go to family.org and click on the daily broadcast, you can listen to it online. I'll be praying!

Christina,
My thoughts and prayers are with your family, and especially for witnessing opportunities, not just for your family, but for all of the doctors and nurses that will care for your mom during this time. God is good and His will is always greater than our own.

Christina;
Thanks for sharing with us & giving us the opportunity to pray for you and your mother. In case you didn't know. Grandma is a cancer survivor. So we have some idea of what you are going through. Also our daughter, Robin , and my sister are breast cancer survivors. We will be trusting God for His will to be done.

Love
Grandma & Grandpa

Hey Christina,

This is Malan. I am so sorry to hear about the news for you mom. That is a really scary thing to go through. Ben and I will keep your whole family in prayer. I do hope that this is a good witness to them. God will be with you and will ALWAYS be your source of peace and comfort. I wish we lived closer to be there for you, but you are in our prayers. Love you girl.
